Desmond Wilkinson Llewelyn (12 September 1914 – 19 December 1999) a Welsh born, English actor, probably most famous for playing the fictional character of Q in James Bond.

Llewelyn was born in Newport, Wales, the son of a coal mining engineer. In his youth he wanted to become a minister, but changed his mins when he went to Radley public school where he worked as a stagehand in the school´s productions and even played a few tiny parts in the plays

During the second world war he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the British army. In 1940, he was captured by the German army in France, and was held as a POW for five years.

On the 19th of December Desmond Llewelyn where returning home after a book signing, he was alone in his Renault Megane, he collieded head-on whit a Fiat Bravo, that was driven by a 35 year old man on the A27 not far from Berwick in East Sussex. Llewelyn died in a couple of hours after the accident

The following monday Llewelyn was schedule to sign copies of the book ”Q: The Biography of Desmond Llewelyn” at Forbidden Planet in New Oxford Street, central London.
At Llewelyns funeral, Rooger Moore who starred whit him in six Bond movies held a speech.
He´s burried at St Mary the Virgin Churchyard in East Sussex
In the Bond Movies following Llewelyns death, Q was replaced whit R played by John Cleese

Desmond Llewelyns widow, Pamela Mary Llewelyn, died in East Sussex in 2001, aged 88
