Did David Ferrie make Jim Garisson climb the wrong tree?

David Ferrie was one of the most important links that district attorny Jim Garisson had when he was reasearching the JFK assination. Ferrie claimed that there where a consparicy whit exil cubans and Clay Shaw.
This kind of conspiracy whould have been researhed and solved pretty fast by the police.
No, i have started to wonder if Ferrie actually draw lies for Garisson to get him on the wrong track to make a place in history.
Ferrie may have had cancer (at least he was working on a antidot for Cancer).
And why not then, making his name in history, by becoming a part of the JFK assasination?
Of course it seems like Ferrie and LHO where in the same pluton while in the army, but its not proven that they knew each other when JFK was killed.
