For example did Bob Dylan write some of his songs here, people like Andy Warhol, Arthur Miller and Jimi Hendrix stayed here. Dylan Thomas died at the hotel in 1953 of alocohol poisoning and it was here where Sid Vicious from Sex Pistols is said to have stabbed his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in 1978.
The hotel has been owned by the same families during 65 years, and now the owners belive that a new owner would bring new energy and ideas to the hotel.
It was built in 1883 and has 12 floors, untill 1899 it was the higesht house in New York and got landmark status in 1966, and then it become a famous hangout for artists, which brought both inspiration and trouble.
