Norwegian researchers made a dig at Hamresande, close to Kristiansand´s airport in southern Norway, and found a settlement that nobody had seen for over 5,500 years, it was burried under three feet of sand.
Lars Sundström lead archaeologist
says
We expected to find an ordinary Scandinanvian stone age site, badly preserved and small, instead we discover a unique site, burried under a thick sand layer.
Whit the help of pottery findings, the site has been dated to around 4000 – 3600 B.C. But still there is a mystery why the site went under.
