Iphone App for emergency

In California’s San Ramon Valley, the fire department have started to use a GPS-based notification system that shows if there is people trained in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a victim of a heart attack more quickly then the rescue personal would do on their own.

The Iphone app that is available for free download is directing area residents to cardiac emergencies in publicly accessible locations, such as Defibrillator (AED).

During the six months the app has been used it has been downloaded more than 22,000 times.

The app also shows the status in real time of each repported incident, when a rescuer got to the scene and when professional emergency services are expected to arrive.
