The nationalarchives in Britian has release over 1,200 journals, that where made by shipdoctors during the 1700 and the 1800. The documents shows for example that the doctors treated Admiral Nelson so good that he was back 30 minutes after he got his arm removed, and when Nelson was shot in the head at the Abukir-bay in Egypt 1798 he was signed out from the hospital after one month.
