At 11:45 the 21:st of April 1918 Manfred Von Richtofens success was over, infront of him he ha a british Sopwith Camel thathe was aiming on and trying to hit.
The pilot of the british plane (Wilfred May) knew that he had the red baron behind him.
May then lowered his airplane and flew on low height above the tree tops trying to lose his enemy, but it all seemed that May should become the red barons 81 victim.
On the ground two australian soliders where wittnes to the chase.
The solider Cedric Popkin raised his machine gun when the red baron approached and when he got the baron in the aim he fired. The red baron was hit by one bullet crushing his ninth rib and made its way towards his chest, seconds later Richtofen lost concius and his plane fell to the ground. A couple of seconds later the legendary plane layed on the ground smashed to piceces in enemy territory. The most famous and admired pilot of the history was dead before his plane hit the ground.
