In 1957 researcher Guy Mellgren found a silvercoin close to the city of Brooklin in Maine on the east cost of Usa. The coin was dated to the vikingera and had been made in Norway during the king Olaf Kyrres (1067-93). It was found in the remains of a former indian settlement from the 1200th century. Researchers dosen´t belive that the vikings got that far south as Maine, but that the coin was used as jewlery, and been brought to the Indianvillage by trading.
