One of Chinas biggest treasuers where thrased.

The great palace of the Chinese emperor where ransaced and burnt to the ground by foregin soliders in 1860.
”A chinese land of adventures” and ”Paradice on earth”, the palace had a huge reputation but still it was destroyed when French soldiers together whit British soldiers caught the palace 1860.
The palace where built as a small village whit 200 very huge decorated buildings, and beutifull gardens. Empreror Qiantong (1735-96) used his life to make the place the most beutifull place on earth. Every building and the gardens where planed in to the smallest detail. The palace where full of paintings, sculptures, jade, porslin, gold and a big collection chinese litteratur.
When the forgein soliders reached the palace, the officer allowed their soldiers to ransak the buildings.
When the treasure had been removed the british ambassour gave the order that the buildings shuold be destroyed totaly as a revenge for 20 british captives that had been tortured to death by the chinese, after two days the palace was burnt to the ground.
