For twelve days the american army chased the men behind the murder of Abraham Lincoln.
On the night of the 14th of April, American president Abraham Lincoln is shot during a theater performance in Washington, the shooter John Wilkes Booth escapes after the murder to the south, he had hope to be in saftey in Virginia.
The murder of Lincoln become the start to the biggest and most inspensive murderchase in American history.
On the night of the 14th of April Booth shoots Lincoln.
He then head south and meets his friend David Herold (who also was in on the plan) they later gets a room at Dr Mudd who supports the south states.
On the 16th of April they are allowed to sleep at the bushes around the Southern army Captain Cox house.
On the 22nd of April Booth and Herold got lost on the river and happens to return to Maryland.
During the time 22-24 of April they arrived at the farmer Garrett in Virginia. Where they are allowed to sleep indoors.
On the 26th of April the cavallary arrives and Booth is shoot to death by Boston Corbett.
His last words where ”Its useless, its useless”.
George Atzerodt Lewis Paine David Herold and Marry Surrat where hanged, the first three convicted to have taken part in the murder. Surrat for giving them food,guns and housing.
