The Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping

1 of March 1932, someone unknown kidnaped Charles Lindbergh jr 20 months. The kidnapping toke place in the Lindbergh home in Hopewell New Jersey. The nanny Betty Gov was looking that the child was sleeping around 21:00 but when she looked again around 22:00 the baby was gone.

The nanny the goes downstairs and asks Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne if they had the child, they then rushed up the stairs into the room, just to discover that the room was empty.

On the windowsill there where a note for a 50.000$ ransom for the safe return of the baby, the police and media wouldn´t be informed.

The police and media where informed, and a huge manhunt begun. Before the police could investigate the crimescene journalists already had been there, climbing ladders and in through the window.

It was decided that the ransom should be payed in gold certificat which soon would be removed from the market.
Against Charles Lindberghs will every number on the ransom money where writen down.

About twenty feet from the Lindbergh home a ladder where found, the ladder matched the marks on the wall besides the nursery window, and was therefore considerd to be the ladder used by the kidnapers.
The ladder was to play a big part in the investigation.
