When Henrik III recived three lions in a weding gift it started the Zoo era of Towern, during 600 years there where animals suchs as icebears, hyenas, elephants. At the start it was just royalties that where allowed to be in the tower zoo, but during Elisabet I in the end of the 1500 century, the public could gain entrance to the towern zoo for a small amount.
But the knowledge of the animals food where very limited, the elephants got sheepmeat to eat, but what could they give them to drink? Well wine where all they could think of.
Whit the knowledge that iron is a important subject for almost every living creature, an austritch very feeded whit 80 nails, after which it died.
On the 28 of August the zoo where closed and the animals that where left where sold to a cirkus.
