The old prison Conciergeriet is a part of Palas de Justice pa île de la cité – the iland where the keltish parisli-tribe founded Paris for over 2.000 years ago. In the basement of Conciergeriet was the waiting room for those who had been sentenced to death. There several thousands waited on their turn to be brought to the revulotionarytribunal to get one of to possible verdicts ”Freedom” or ”death”. Prisoners that where sentced to death was beheaded by the guiliotine. Today Conciergeriet is a museum to the memory of the revulotions fear and terror, among the things that could be viwed is a copy of the cell where Marie-Antoniette spent the last 77 days of her life.
