The american writer and nobelpricewinner was under the second world war drafted as a agent for the Sovjet Intelligence service (KGB). Acording to documents from the KGB archives Hemingway used the alias Argo and was several time saying that he had ”high regards and wanted to do what he could to help”
But as a spy he was useless, he didnt gave KGB any political information and wasn´t doing any spying either.
All this is revelead in the new bok ”Spies – The rise and fall of KGB in America”.
