In June of 1952 Sovjet planes shot down to Swedish planes over Östersjön, Sweden had so far been a neutral country and was suddenly brought in the fight between the big countrys Usa and Sovjet.

On the 13 of June 1952 a DC-3 toke off from Bromma airport in Stockholm, the course where Gotland.
Aboard the plane where eight men, all of them employed by the Swedish army.

The day looked like all the other, then the clock turned 11:25.
Then the DC-3 called the airport in Hägernäs, but didn´t leave any message.
It didn´t take more than an hour before the first planes took off to look for the lost DC-3.

After two days searching a inflatable boat from the plane where found, it hadn´t been used.
On the inflatable boat pieces of ammunition where found, the pieces showed to bee the same that the Sovjet army uses.

The conclusion over what happend, where clear as glas, but at the same time it sent spikes of fear down the spines of thoose who knew.

The Swedish DC-3 had been shoot down by the Sovjet army.

The day after the finding of the boat, it was time for next chock.A Catalina Plane where out searching for the DC-3, sent a message at 04:09, it was a short message, and most likely the people who recived it didn´t really belive it when they read it.

”We are beeing attacked by two MIG-Planes”

Two minutes later a second message come from the Catalina ”We have been hit”

What all feard have during this moment come true, Sweden was about to be dragged in to the war.

Sweden was at the time exploding whit anger over the attacks, but not much more happend, the DC-3 where lost for over 52 years, until it was found in the summer of 2003.

The Swedish goverment has decided that the DC-3 should be preserved to the afterworld. The thought is to have the plane as a exibhit at the Aeromuseum in Linköping in 2010.
