Winnipeg Jets is back in NHL

Its now clear that the new Winnipeg team will use the old name Winnipeg Jets when they will play in the NHL next year.

It´s been 15 years ago since Winnipeg had a team in the NHL, it played in the NHL between 1979 and 1996, when it moved to Arizona and become Phoenix Coyotes. The team thats moving to Winnipeg now is Atlanta Thrashers.

We have thought about this for a long time, and it wasn´t an easy descision. We where thinking for something new but we always got back to the old name and we belive this is the best way to go.
