It not thinner than a human hair, but it has twice the charging capacity of the lithum-ion batteris that are on the market today. Scientists at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque has managed to create a battery of nanowires
These observations prove that nanowires can sustain large stress induced by lithiation without breaking, indicating that nanowires are very good candidates for battery electrodes
